Keyword

Keyword in simple language can be explained as the word used by people in the search box of search engines to search solutions for their queries. Keyword as the name suggests, is the key for your success in SEO campaign.

Different people use different keywords to get their desired result. So a good SEO expert should know which keywords drive good amount of traffic to their site. Not all the keyword direct traffic, so a little bit of research is necessary on keywords.

Example of a black hat SEO technique, hiding keywords!!!!

HELLO, HELLO, HELLO

Did you see the pale green color line at the top. Now click and drag the mouse along the line. You can see that hello is written three times. Imagine if this is written somewhere in the blog and author has used black color instead of red, you don't even know that such kind of text exists in the site and you may be wondering why on the earth did the search engine show that XYZ site in its search list which is not at all relevant to your search query. But the fact is that the search engines crawlers had seen something on that site which is relevant to the keyword entered by you in their search bar!!!!

Don't do these kind of cheap tricks, because search engines are very intelligent and has zero tolerance towards such things. They will penalize such sites for practicing black hat seo techniques. And the penalty would be removal of the site which practices black hat techniques form search index. As you know that search engine traffic is very necessary for any one, I hope no one even thinks about such techniques.

BLACK HAT SEO VS WHITE HAT SEO

There are many techniques to improve the rank in search engines. Some of these techniques are ethical and some are not. Some give good content to readers and some build websites just to stand in the top of search engines listings. They don’t have any useful content and such kind of websites are was of time for users and don’t give any kind of information. Hence search engines have classified optimization techniques into two types.
1) White Hat Search Engine Optimization
2) Black Hat Search Engine Optimization
White Hat SEO:-
The techniques that are approved by search engines and those techniques that follow ethical are called white hat search engine optimization techniques. The websites that follow white hat seo follow the guidelines set by search engines and do not deceive its viewers and crawlers of search engines. It takes considerable amount of time to get good ranking by following white hat seo, but it in long term, it yields very good results. As the content will original and unique, most of the people like to visit the website again and again.
Some of the examples of white hat seo techniques are submitting the sites to directories, using proper keywords and key phrases in the content, optimizing Meta tags, obtaining back links from high rated and relevant websites etc…
Black Hat SEO:-
Black hat seo is exact opposite to white hat seo. They are unethical and cheat both its visitors and search engines. Some of these techniques redirect visitors to pages which are not at all relevant to the query. Black hat techniques will reduce the quality of search results of search engines.  Hence search engines penalize the sites that use black hat techniques and will remove the sites using such techniques from their search index.
Some of the examples of black hat seo techniques are spamming the comments on forums, blogs, articles etc, stuffing the page with list of keywords in the page and hiding them with the background color same as the color of the text etc.
Detailed example of one black hat technique, Keyword stuffing and how it works
For example, if a website which is not at all related to cooking or food related articles, thinks of optimizing for FOOD using black hat techniques, then they write a text which contain only that keyword and hide them by using the background color same as the color of the text. So, the human visitor cannot see it because both the background and text will be in same color but crawlers or bolts can read them. When a user enters the keyword FOOD in the search bar, then the crawler will think that this site has some content related to FOOD and shows it in the search index. But the user will be confused to see a site which is not at all related to it and gets annoyed or frustrated.

How does search engines gather data from internet?

Different search engines employed different technologies to search for the websites that matches the user’s query. Almost all the search engines depend upon crawlers. A crawler is computer software which scans almost all the pages on World Wide Web. Please note that I used almost in the previous sentence as the crawlers do not scan all the pages in the world of internet. They only go to the pages which they think are important and has something to share with viewers. That means, even if you have spent thousands of dollars or pounds on your website creation and its development, that nothing to the crawlers. They are hungry for content. Crawlers low text. They like to go to a website which has text. The more text you have, the more is the chance of a crawler visiting your site and indexing it in search engine.
Google uses crawlers which are very powerful and intelligent when compared to many of its competitors like Yahoo, MSN, Bing, Ask etc. It calls its crawlers as spiders or bolts. So if you see a word called ‘Google Bolt’ or Spider anywhere, don’t be surprised. They are the pet names of Google’s crawlers.
These crawlers go through almost all the pages on web and gather information and store them in their index. Based on the information obtained from these crawlers or spiders, different search engines employ different methods to rank a website. Some may rank a website based on the occurrence of a keyword in that particular website or page, some on meta data, some on inbound links, some on outbound links, some on text, some on title, some on description of title and some on the combination of any or all these methods. And almost all the major search engines keep changing their methods of ranking sites. So one must be up to date about these methods and modify their website accordingly to stay at the top of search engines. You can visit the help pages of actual search engine and keep yourself up to date. Though these search engines don’t tell you how they rank websites, you can get very valuable information from the questions and answers posted by many other people. The bottom line is grab as much as information as you can from all the sides. All you need is information, information and information.

SEO-What Is Search Engine Optimisation?

Search engine optimization or SEO is a process of improving the rank of a website in search engines using different techniques. In short search engine optimization helps the webmasters to increase the visibility of their websites and attract more visitors.
So why do you think you should have an idea over SEO?? Why do you think one should even bother to rank good in search results?? Why should you waste your valuable and precious time in increasing the visibility of your site???
Well, the answer is simple. To get more visitors. If you have created a site, you always want someone to visit it. People can visit your website only if they know it. This work is done by search engines. They visit almost all the websites and try to gather as much information as they can. When a user inputs a keyword or query into their search box, they retrieve most relevant and trusted information and puts in front of him/her.
Research state that almost 88 percent of people on internet use search engines to find out the answers to their questions and solutions for their queries. So to make your site visible in the Google or in any search engine for that instance, you must at least know the basic information about how search engines find out websites out of trillions for the requested keyword, how they rank the websites, about how people find websites on internet.
It’s impossible for the humans to visit each and every single page out of infinite number of websites on internet. Even if someone has visited all the pages on the internet (of course this will take dozens of years), it’s not at all possible to read all the lines in the pages and store them accordingly. That’s the reason; all the search engines depend upon technology.
